For private-practice therapists
You did the work.
I'll get you paid.
Securely upload the mental-health claims your insurer denied. I build and file the appeal for you, and you only pay when you get paid. No retainer, no credit card.
The denial economy
Insurers deny at scale, betting you won't push back. The data says fighting works.

How Overturn works
Three steps. I do the part you dread.
Appeals are designed to exhaust you. Different forms, deadlines, and clinical justifications for every payer. I handle all of it.
Upload securely
Drop your denied claims, ERAs, or EOBs. Everything is encrypted and HIPAA-safe from the second it lands. No credit card, ever.
I build the appeal
I identify what's worth fighting, draft the clinical justification, attach the documentation, and file with the right payer before the deadline.
You only pay when you get paid
If the appeal is overturned, you keep the recovered revenue minus a simple success fee. If nothing comes back, you owe nothing. No recovery, no fee.
Pricing
You get paid, or you pay nothing. Full stop.
Your incentive and mine are the same.
I don't get paid unless you do. That means I only chase the appeals that are genuinely worth fighting, and I fight them hard. The money was always yours. I just make sure it comes back.
Security & privacy
Your clients' data is treated like it's my own.
Handing over claims means handing over PHI. I built Overturn so that never feels like a risk.
End-to-end encryption in transit and at rest, with a signed BAA available before you upload a single file.
I only access the data required to appeal a claim. You stay in control and can revoke access at any time.
Built and hosted in the U.S. by the team behind Therapy Companion. Patent pending. Compliance documentation on request.
Questions
The things therapists ask first.
What does it cost to start?
Nothing. Uploading, reviewing, and filing appeals is completely free, with no credit card required. You only pay a success fee when you actually get paid on a recovered claim. If nothing comes back, you owe nothing.
Which denials are worth appealing?
More than you'd think. Over half of all denials are administrative or referral-related, categories that are often fixable on resubmission. Behavioral-health denials are overturned 60-61% of the time on independent review. I flag the ones with a real shot and tell you honestly which aren't worth the effort.
Is my clients' data safe?
Yes. Overturn is HIPAA-compliant, encrypted end to end, and I sign a BAA before you upload anything. I only ever touch the minimum data needed to appeal a claim.
How is this different from doing it myself?
The average appeal takes 45 to 60 minutes of payer-specific paperwork, which is why solo therapists appeal roughly one claim a year out of 200+ denials. Overturn absorbs that entire workload so the revenue comes back without the burnout.
What's the catch with "powered by Therapy Companion"?
No catch. Overturn is the appeals service from Therapy Companion, the operating system for therapy practices. Use Overturn entirely on its own, for free. If you later want denials caught and flagged automatically across every claim, the full platform is there when you're ready.
Once the money's flowing back
Stop denials before they happen.
Overturn recovers what's already been denied. Therapy Companion tracks every claim from submission to payment, flags denials the day they hit, and surfaces the ones worth appealing, with documentation attached. Less busywork. More therapy.
There's money sitting in your denied claims. Let's go get it.
You did the work. You deserve to get paid. Free to start, no credit card, and you only pay when you get paid.
Statistics shown reflect national averages from CMS Transparency in Coverage Public Use Files (2024 service year) and the CMS Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (2026), and independent external-review data (JAMA Internal Medicine). They describe industry-wide outcomes, not results Overturn has achieved for specific clients, and are not a guarantee of recovery. Appeal outcomes depend on the payer, plan, claim, and clinical circumstances. “You only pay when you get paid” refers to Overturn's success-based fee, charged only on recovered (overturned) claims.
